In the next couple of days, we will be launching the ReDSNet Processor, an application designed to use the power of the Internet and distributed computing to process the hundreds of terabytes of data generated by health organizations, in the hopes that we can expedite the search for a cure to Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Please visit our website at http://www.redsnet.org/ and sign up. Together we can find tomorrow's cure... Today.

I\\\'m sure you\\\'ll that participants will have to download an executable file to join the Processor. Look out for ... viruses. (OK, that wasn\\\'t funny - but black humor\\\'s big these days.)

The first version will be a Flash application, so no issue regarding viruses. If we do get around to the standalone versions, full source code will be provided for safety reasons.

Do you have an estimate for when it\\\'ll be live?

You poor fools.... I took a look at the application, and it\\\'s already been compromised. The griefers just don\\\'t have any boundaries these days. Bastards.

You are not helping the cause by giving people a false sense of fear like that. There's no need to be paranoid! We have taken every precaution to ensure the application is safe and not compromising to the end user. It's impossible for you to have seen the app as it hasn't been released; don't propagate unfounded rumors like this!

We will be rolling out ReDSNet on all of our available systems at CentCom. Obviously any system that has classified material or above will not have it installed, but we will not be using the max capacity of each system. We're estimating a cluster of 5-10,000 systems within the next week and a half. Google is cooperating with us, as is Cisco, HP, and Sun. We will also be mandating it's deployment to non-military government agencies, excluding intelligence, state department and foreign embassies. I personally encourage anyone who wants to help with the ReDS effort whether you like CentCom or not, to participate in this project.
