Nevada Govenor Calls up National Guard as Abductions Rise

Roving bands of miitants are abducting ReDS patients across the state

The Govenor of Nevada declared a state of emergency last night and ordered all of the state's National Guard troops to report to their respective bases in response to the growing number of incidents of armed paramilitary groups abducting people suspected of being infected with ReDS.

In the past month, there have been confirmed reports that over 1000 people have been abducted from their homes in the middle of the night by groups of vigilantes dressed in paramilitary gear and carrying automatic weapons. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the number could be 10 times that.

One man, Jared Azemi, whose group was rescued after a 3-hour gun battle between the militants and Nevada State Troopers, had this to say: "They said they were taking us to California," Azemi recalled. "They're taking us to the border, and they're going to shoot us. We're going to be massacred."All over the state, people suspected of having the ReDS virus are disappearing from their homes. Officials at ReDS Regional Command here know little of their fate, but they fear the worst. "We have been extremely concerned about hundreds of reports of husbands, sons, wives and daughters being ordered from their homes and forced at gunpoint to into truck convoys."

They have good cause for concern. Many ReDS officials point to an August 27 incident near the southern Nevada town of Tonopah, in which armed militiamen pulled more than 50 people from a refugee convoy and made them kneel in a nearby field. Their families were ordered to move on but reported hearing gunshots about a half-hour later. That same afternoon, another convoy reported passing the field and seeing numerous bodies lying there.

In a local newscast, the Govenor said, "we will not allow these terrorist groups to decide who lives and who dies. We will do everything in our power to protect the citizens of the State of Nevada, and make sure that those who committed these horrible acts are brought to justice." He also urged citizens to arm themselves (Nevada allows its citizens to carry unconcealed weapons) and to report anything suspicious immediately to authorities.
