  • How to join
    We need regional volunteers to start local regional Edu-cycle superstructs.  Simply start an edu-cycle where you live, - the simplest way is to set it up as a yahoogroup so members can visit it online, then get out there and promote it as a social networking tool for p2p connections for learning new skills.  As a moderator you also have the task of maintaining the integrity of this FREE resource.  START AN EDU-CYCLE IN YOUR REGION!  Link back to us, lets start networking!
  • Mission

    Based on the freecycle and freeschool concept this superstruct will network regional members to share educational resources.  Members can post OFFERS (skills they can impart as a teacher/mentor, educational materials and cooperative educational opportunities) and WANTS (things they'd like to learn, materials they need, etc)

    It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) an education for free in their own towns. It's all about sharing resources and talents. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free.

  • What we can accomplish
    • Allow people to connect online as well as off to share skills.  Not all learning can take place online, virtual classrooms are great and will fill many needs, but they are akin to booklearning.  It does not replace hands on teaching and learning for a lot of people.  Use your local educycle to organize free school activities, paper libraries, and anything else you can dream up.
  • How this superstruct works

    • Link to a yahoogroup set up just like the freecycle network.  Members should ensure there is an educycle started up in their locality.  Keep it readable by the public, lets take this offline and into our communities!  Lets make this real people!

       

      INPUT - setting up regional groups, promotion, moderating group to eliminate spam, handle conflicts, keep it free, membership, remembering to post what you have to offer, volunteering time to teach, remembering to post what you want, volunteering time to learn

      OUTPUT - connections, community building, learning new skills, passing on skills, educational freedom

    • The Free Food Free School has expressed interest in joining with the EDU-CYCLE and I've encouraged it's founder - zoefirestar - to start an educycle in her region (Ottawa Ontario CANADA)  Beverly2019 has offered to start an EDUCYCLE for Vancouver Island.  Whereever you are it is EASY to start anv EDUCYCLE.  all it takes is 5 minutes starting a superstruct and linking it here.  If you're ready to go live it takes 10 minutes at yahoogroups and then you promote it P2P in every day life.
