    The Hexayurt project has had four main phases.

     2002 - 2010 Replacement of the disaster relief tent as the standard option for rehousing refugees and displaced populations in favor of the Hexayurt.

     2010 - 2014 Perfection of the OSATI - Open Source Appropriate Technology Infrastructure system - a box the size of a small refrigerator that purifies water, cooks food, keeps food cold, purifies human waste (in combination with an external toilet) and costs about $100 in  mass manufacture. Now refugees and poor people can get all their basic services off the grid and cheap!

    2014 - 2018 Perfection of the EmPe Program - Emergency Permaculture, a rapid-response food growing technology which allows refugees and displaced people to get to partial food self-sufficiency within six months, and to full food-export status within two harvests, without chemical fertilizers after year one. Research agenda shared with the Global Swadeshi Network. This system becomes about 30% of the food supply chain of DCAR - The Refugee State. This means that people really can begin to be totally self-sufficient, safe from the core menaces of the modern age, no matter how poor they are.

    2019 - Facing the Superthreats - close collaboration with The Unplugged to push distributed infrastructure out of poverty and into being the core support structure of the wider human race.

    We can unwind high tech civilization into high tech, highly distributed civilization where our distance from each other protects against ReDs, helps with our food and energy problems by not overloading the environment, and helps stabilize the climate balance of the planet by no longer over-consuming.

    The Hexayurt Project is nothing less than a planetary life-support revolution - the same one envisaged by Buckminster Fuller nearly 100 years ago!

      I would propose that an effort is made to collaborate with the Homestead in a Box and Emergency Permaculture Structs.  To me these three Structs seem to share several main ideas about distribution and sustainability.  --abodadu.
